MVS Label Project

Step Two - The Wiring Harness

Step two is making a MVS wiring harness. We are going to start with a new Jamma harness, and turn it into a very basic MVS harness. This is not going to have all the Molex connectors like a true MVS harness does, but it will get the job done and is perfect for a conversion cab.

I am going to make some assumptions with this project:

  1. You are using a switching power supply.
  2. You have only 2 coin mechs. in your cab.
  3. You don't need or want a counter mech.
  4. You are putting two speakers in your cab.

Please also note that there are too many different Video and Coin door pinouts for me to show you how to do each one. I am leaving both of those pinouts for you to figure out. (sorry!)

You will need:

A new Jamma harness. See the Reviews section on which one to buy.

Crimping tool. Get one at Home Depot. These things are great to have around.
Wire Strippers
18 Gauge black hookup wire.
Crimp on connectors. You will need 18-22 gauge fork terminals, 18-22 gauge .187 quick connect terminals and .110 quick connect terminals. (this is not the right picture, but it was all I had)

Zip ties. I use LOTS of zip ties.
